Boxtox vs. Beetox

We’ve all heard of Botox. Maybe you’ve been considering getting Botox injections, or perhaps you’ve already had them. But have you heard of Beetox? It’s a natural alternative to Botox, derived from bee venom. Read on to learn more about Beetox, how it compares to Botox, and whether it really works.

Is Botox Natural?

Botox is just a brand name. The actual product is botulinum toxin, which is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum – yes, the same bacterium that causes botulism. In that sense, Botox is natural. Botulinum toxin is produced in nature, but it’s something we certainly want to treat with caution.

While Botox as a treatment is considered relatively safe, it is not without risks. In fact, the FDA has issued a warning on Botox because the toxin sometimes spreads beyond the injection site. When that happens, other muscles can be paralyzed, which has resulted in patients having trouble swallowing or breathing.

If you decide to get Botox, you should work only with a board-certified dermatologist. One recent study found that when patients received Botox treatments from board-certified dermatologists, fewer than 1% experienced adverse effects.

What About Beetox?

Beetox is considered a natural alternative to Botox. If the risks associated with Botox are a little too scary for you, you’re not really enthusiastic about the idea of injecting toxins into your face, or you simply want to be able to go longer between Botox treatments, Beetox may be right for you.

Beetox uses bee venom to stimulate facial muscles. It produces a natural anti-aging effect by smoothing out fine lines and firming your skin. Your skin reacts to the venom as if you were lightly stung, which, in turn, increases blood circulation and stimulates cell regeneration, along with the production of collagen.  This is effectively working on a micro-damage – micro-repair principle and guess what – it really works!

So Does It REALLY Work?

Absolutely! Our Au Natural Bee Venom increases cell renewal by 80%! It also has an exfoliating effect created by the body’s response to micro damage from the bee venom. Your body is gently stimulated to increase cell renewal for effective skin repair and rejuvenation. As an added benefit, studies conducted on melittin – the active compound in bee venom – also showed a reduction in inflammation and in acne-causing bacteria.

A 2015 National Institutes of Health study found that bee venom serum reduced the total amount of wrinkled skin, the total number of wrinkles, and the overall depth of the wrinkles in participants’ skin. The study was conducted over 12 weeks, so measurable results happened pretty quickly, and all without a needle!

Can I Use Beetox AND Botox?

Sure! Think of it this way: if your skin is strong and the best it can be, you can increase the length of time between Botox visits. Botox paralyzes your facial muscles, while Beetox works to increase cell regeneration and collagen production.

After a Botox Treatment, if you use Beetox to increase the health of your skin, you may find that you can postpone your next Botox injection and stretch out the time between treatments. After all, there’s no point in getting a Botox injection if your skin already looks great, right?

But Doesn’t It Hurt The Bees?

No way! We love our bees! We believe that bees are critically important to our ecosystem, and we should all strive to look after them. Rest assured, no bees are harmed to make any of our Au Natural Skinfood products.

While it is true that bees in the wild lose their stingers and die after injecting venom into a human, we are able to collect venom without causing the bees to lose their stingers. This is done by placing a sheet of glass with a very weak electrical current running through it.

When the bees sit on the glass, they are stimulated to stick out their stingers. A small amount of venom is expelled, and the bee’s pheromones encourage other bees to follow suit.

Once the venom is dry, it is scraped off the glass, and that’s what we use in our products. The bees, meanwhile, happily go back to collecting pollen, completely unharmed. You can check out our video here to see the process for yourself.

Au Natural Products for Beetoxing

So, are you ready to see what Beetox can do for you? Let’s take a look at a few of our products.

  • Manuka Honey And Bee Venom Sheet Masks – You’ll receive a pack of five masks that are both anti-aging and restorative. Our masks help balance and strengthen your skin’s microbiome, which helps you fight environmental damage. Bee venom increases blood circulation to deeper layers of skin, while antioxidants reduce free radical damage. An added bonus with us all wearing masks at the moment is that these treatment masks really help to keep your skin Biome-positive, helping you fight off any skin issues that might occur as a result of long term mask wearing.
  • PM Night Cream With Manuka Honey – Our PM Night Cream works to repair and rejuvenate your skin while you sleep. New Zealand bee venom stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, while supporting cell regeneration to repair and tighten your skin. The addition of Manuka honey helps to hydrate, repair, and protect your skin. It’s suitable for all skin types and works to strengthen your skin’s natural barrier function so it can fight environmental damage.
  • Balance Rotorua White Mud Mask – Our white mud mask deeply cleanses and exfoliates your skin. It clears away dead skin cells, surface debris and unwanted residues, while helping to balance the bacteria on your skin. New Zealand bee venom encourages a micro-damage/micro-repair response, which triggers cell regeneration to improve your complexion.

A Final Note

We think bee venom is amazing. Science discovers new benefits all the time, from treating eczema to treating cancer! However, like many other things, it’s not for everybody.

We want all our customers to be healthy and safe. If you are allergic to bee stings, it may not be safe for you to use bee venom products. It’s possible that applying bee venom to your skin could cause you to have the same type of allergic reaction you’d have to a bee sting. Therefore, if you had previous allergic reaction to Bee stings, we caution against using products with bee venom until further research is done.
