Your skin is an organ, and it’s just as important as your heart or lungs. And like your heart and lungs, you need to establish healthy habits to protect it.
This week marks an important milestone. You’re halfway through the challenge! I’m so proud of you for making it this far, and I hope you’re proud of yourselves, too. By now, you’re used to using our four core products on a daily basis. That’s one healthy habit you’ve already put in place. Good for you!

Healthy Habits vs. Quick Fixes
Before we jump in, though, I want to discuss the difference between addressing our skin problems from a health and confidence perspective versus beating ourselves up for having imperfections.
Take a moment to think of the people you love most. Every one of them probably has little imperfections that you find adorable.
Maybe your grandmother had laugh lines that would crinkle in joy when she saw you, a testament to so many years of smiling written on her face. Perhaps your husband has a scar, or your child has the most precious birthmark. Whatever the case, these imperfections don’t make you love your friends and family any less. They’re simply a part of who they are, and you love them as such. Remember, your loved ones look at your imperfections the same way.
We’re Celebrating YOU
At Au Natural Skinfood, we are all about celebrating individuality and cherishing the little imperfections that make us unique. We encourage you to adopt the same philosophy.
That said, there are still skin challenges you are likely to face as you age. Let’s talk about what they are and how to treat them.
Estrogen peaks in your 20s, giving most women a luminous, taut, and even-toned complexion. Despite this, you may experience acne, particularly in the week before your period.
Make sure you’re eating wholesome food to support your health. If you feel a spot developing, you can treat it with On The Spot-Spot Gel. To regulate oil production and nourish the skin, the Dr. Au Concentrates Anti-Aging Face Oil works wonders. Make a habit of applying it before your moisturizer.
As you reach your 30s, estrogen levels start to dip. You’ll have lower levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, too. Cell turnover also slows down, and your skin doesn’t recover as easily from inflammation.
You may experience drier, thinner skin, traces of lines and wrinkles, the beginning of age spots, and increased flares of inflammatory conditions like rosacea and acne.
Ramp up your anti-aging regimen, especially at night, when your skin naturally rests and repairs. I recommend incorporating products with bee venom.
Bee venom acts as an irritant, increasing blood flow and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, along with new cell turnover. It’s excellent for plumping and tightening the skin.
When you hit your 40s, estrogen really takes a dive. You can expect less firmness, elasticity, and moisture. Estrogen-related bone loss may affect your facial structure, leading to looser skin, deeper wrinkles, and sunken eyes.
Healthy habits and lifestyle choices are recommended at every stage of life, but in your 40s, they’re especially effective in slowing down aging and improving the health of your skin.
A skincare regimen that includes a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, serum, eye cream, and daily SPF will significantly help boost firmness and elasticity.
During your 50s, you’ll likely experience menopause, bringing estrogen to a halt. You lose a third of your collagen within five years of menopause. Your skin’s moisture, glow, and ability to bounce back decrease with it.
After 50, skin dries, thins, and gets looser. Lines and wrinkles deepen, pores stretch, eyelids sag, eye sockets hollow, spider veins become more visible, age spots appear, and benign bumps, skin patches, and skin tags may grow.
Hydration is crucial during this time because without the natural hyaluronic acid that comes with estrogen, your skin doesn’t hold on to moisture. Some healthy habits you can follow are lowering the temperature in your shower, and don’t use harsh soaps.

Before we wrap up today, let’s talk about our hero ingredient: grape seed extract. It has a long history of being used for health purposes, dating all the way back to ancient Greece!
That’s because grape seed extract has a high natural concentration of resveratrol, which boosts the immune system and improves blood circulation.
This hero ingredient is found in many of our products, including our AM Day Serum, PM Night Cream, and Collagen Powder.
In addition to boosting circulation, grape seed extract has the ability to fight free radicals–rogue molecules that break down healthy cells and contribute to aging. And high levels of resveratrol and Vitamin C help heal damaged skin.
Additionally, grape seed extract helps boost absorption of our Hair.Skin.Nails Marine Collagen Powder. And we love that we’re keeping grape seeds out of landfills by sourcing them from local vineyards.
